Born in Queens, NY, Jenevieve Cruz developed an early interest in music through her grandmother who was a local singer-songwriter, pianist, and composer. She received her first guitar at age 12 then learned to play bass guitar at 15. In 2004, she nurtured her artistic talents by a strict regime; writing during her “free” time while she serviced for the U.S. Military. Two years later, she ventured out to perform with her guitar and did spoken word on the Lower East Side of New York City at open mic nights. Years later, Jenevieve met DJ/producer Giuseppe D. at a dinner meeting he was invited to in regards to her music. They had continued to speak for months until they finally decided to collaborate and see what they would come up with. This lead to creating a 6-song EP, and the development of an electronic/alternative version of Jenevieve. She hit with her first single and video titled “Scared” and then went Top 10 Billboard™ Dance with her follow-up single “Move” from that debut, self-titled EP. From her second EP, “X2Y”, she got noticed with her version of Modern English’s hit “I Melt With You” which got featured on the Bravo TV show “Girlfriend’s Guide To Divorce”. Now, with her first full-length album “digital dream”, JENEVIEVE X is getting out there with shows and much more to come.
