Hudson Pride and the Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival are partnering with Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and the Mayor’s LGBTQ+ Taskforce to kick off a month-long celebration for the 20th anniversary of the Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival with the launch of Pride crosswalks painted throughout the City. Unlike other Pride crosswalks, Jersey City’s crosswalks standout using the Progress Pride flag colors for inclusivity, with artists Avery Nice and Robert Avila adding their artistic expressions of the celebration through art forms.
Please join us for the Rainbow Block Party a community event celebrating Jersey City Pride. Community members will help paint the area between the crosswalks on Grove Street and Mercer Street in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival. If you want to participate in the painting you must pre-register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. You don’t have to paint to enjoy the block party so come on out and join in on the fun.
